PNC-27
PNC-27 is a synthetic peptide designed to target and destroy cancer cells by binding to the HDM-2 protein expressed on their membranes. 02Mechanism of action
Cell Penetration and Binding
The penetratin sequence allows PNC-27 to enter cells and bind to HDM-2 proteins, which are highly expressed on the membranes of cancer cells.
Membrane Disruption
Binding to HDM-2 causes the peptide to form pores in the cancer cell membrane, leading to rapid membrane depolarization and lysis.
Targeted Necrosis
Because healthy cells do not express significant levels of HDM-2 on their membranes, they remain unaffected, resulting in targeted tumor cell death (necrosis).
